Home equity line got charged/written off after foreclosure.?

I had to foreclose on my home last year. I had an equity line on that home for 25,000. I have never heard from the bank that I had the line with since the foreclosure. On my credit report it shows that line being charged off/written off. It has been over a year now and a new collection company is showing up on my credit report for that equity line and bank. I was under the impression that since the loan had been written off that I was done with that loan. I haven’t gotten any letters or calls from this collection agency. Can they try after a year to collect the money, if so how will they go about collecting the money. I really didn’t have much of a choice in the foreclosure. I had to relocate for work and tried ot sell the house for over a year. After a while I couldn’t afford the 2 mortgage payments. The state of this foreclosure was in Mi. Thanks

even with the mortgage meltdown, can i still get a home loan after 1 year post bankruptcy? my middle credit score is 624. i just paid off a $1000 credit card and the impact (if any) from that isnt showing on my credit report yet. if i have a chance, can someone please point me in the right direction.

I was curious, how long after a short sale in the state of Florida can you qualify for a new loan at a reasonable interest rate? My boyfriend has had the short sale, and I have not, and would be a first time home buyer with excellent credit. When do you think we could qualify with his situation?

We been dischaged in last year May. We moved to different state and rent is almost expensive as house payment. with our family they are give us 20% down payment on the house if we can get a loan approval by direct lenders. Even our bankruptcy my score is 660 to 700. Where can I contect direct lenders?

Do lenders allow you to sell your home and then roll over what is still owed on the home into another loan if the loan value is more than the sold amount? We owe $410k and our home is not worth more than $340-350k. We are current but continue to struggle making payments and would like to sell but certainly don’t have $60k to bring to the closing table.

well my mom has been up to her neck in bills and funeral costs and so much more evr since dad died in july! so now that winter is coming, is there anyone out there that knows of any grants or programs that would help her out with the large mortage payment and home equity loan they have on the house!! please help

I’m interested in a Home Equity Line of Credit. I did a bankruptcy in 2005, however my fico is 710. The payoff on my apartment is only $11,900.00 and the estimated value is $111.000. I make $46,000 a year and been in my work since 2005. What are the possibilities to obtain a HELOC???

It seems like no one will finance the building of our new home. We have a great credit score (we sold our first home and broke even). They said,”we don’t DO building loans” not that it was us.
So I figured out because of our awesome score we can put it all on credit cards ($50,000) is all it will cost. It seems pretty rediculous that we can’t that amount out right after selling a home for 140k.
But after its built can we get a home equity loan, to pay of the creit cards, or no because we will have a new, lower credit score?
