January 1, 2010 6:20 pm | #7Obama care has given us a preview of things to come. H1N1 vaccine goes to detainees at Gitmo, ahead of high risk groups here in the U.S., next will likely be a call by Obama for Osama Bin Laden to come in for free kidney dialysis, ahead of U.S. citizens.
January 1, 2010 6:26 pm | #8We’ve ignored women’s health concerns for too long. Some heath care and health issues are particular to women, just as they are for different groups. The gov’t is trying to get past the white male paradigm that has dominated how health and health care is regulated and legislated. Considering that American women outnumber men, serve as primary breadwinners of American families, and act as primary caretakers of their families, this panel is pertinent to the entire purpose of health care reform.

Perhaps the same can be said for women and breast-cancer or heart-disease, but I’ve yet to hear anything on that matter. I WOULD like improvement in health care for women, but maybe just a BIT more specific for men, as well. Of course we have more to worry about with our reproductive systems but there should still be a bal.
